Hi guys, as some of you might know I`m new to the NIC DI scheme and new to filling out these purple certs.

Q1. On the EIC purple certs, under the "SUPPLY CHARACTERISTICS" section, it asks for the external earth fault loop impedance by enquiry. Does anyone actually enquire or what reading should I put in there?

Q2. Same question as above but regarding the two nominal voltage readings?

Q3. What to fill in by the "ELECTRODE RESISTANCE" box?

Q4. Main switch voltage rating.......do you put the highest or lowest or both?

Thanks Guys

These are pretty much guesses as I'm not with NIC (Yet)
Q1 I never enquire, I always measure it. Is there another box on there for a measured Ze? If not I'd think it would be perfectly acceptable to put measured instead of enquired
Q2 If its a 3phase the entry is going to be 230/400.
Q3 Only applicable if there is an earth electrode not applicable unless its a TT
Q4 How do you mean by both voltage ratings? Shouldn't there be just one?

Either 0.35 tn-cs or 0.80 tn-s or measured Ze tt or just put in measured Ze (NIC) guy told me it didn't really matter which.
Nominal voltage Uo 230 other box only applicable if 3 phase then 415
Electrode resistance only applicable if tt installation if not then N/A
Mainswitch voltage rating written on switch.

Q1. On the EIC purple certs, under the "SUPPLY CHARACTERISTICS" section, it asks for the external earth fault loop impedance by enquiry. Does anyone actually enquire or what reading should I put in there? Ordinarily your measured value of Ze would go in here. There are occasions where the measurement of Ze isn't possible due to not being able to shut the supply off for example. Then you use the value obtained by inquiry to the DNO.

Q2. Same question as above but regarding the two nominal voltage readings? The U value is only applicable on a 3P installation as it is the nominal voltage between lines, and is 400V. The Uo value is the nominal voltage between line & earth and is 230V

Q3. What to fill in by the "ELECTRODE RESISTANCE" box? If you are working on a TT system with an earth electrode, the measured resistance of the electrode goes here. If not a TT system N/A.

Q4. Main switch voltage rating.......do you put the highest or lowest or both? The highest rating marked on the switch i.e 230V or 400V etc.

Thanks Guys
