HI—having trouble with a GFCI outlet. Unsure if there's much more I can do before calling a pro, but wanted to ask.
I have a GFCI outlet in the kitchen that recently tripped. When we went to reset it, we lost power to the hood fan and stove light to the right of the outlet. The "reset" button on the GFCI outlet won't stay down—it keeps popping out when we try to reset.
So I opened the outlet up and it looked like there were some faulty or loose connections. I reattached all the hot, neutral, and ground wires in proper sequence. Still no luck, unfortunately, the same thing happens.
Anything particular I might look for or try?
