I live on a farm which has an industrial unit with a current business in situ, and three domestic properties, 1:3 bed detached farmhouse and two 3 bed cottages. We all share the same electricity supply. The business had a submeter fitted in Jan, that we have been told is dedicated to monitoring the supply of the 3 domestic properties, and the 2 cottages have meters it is only my property the farmhouse that does not have a meter. The landlord has been splitting the bills by means of % and this has meant that I paid more than twice the amount of my neighbours for the last bill as the landlords agent thought that we must have used more electricty than our neighbours! we were told this by the accountant of the letting agent to who we paid our bill to the agent did not think that it was fair to use our neighbours meter readings and so the last bill was me: ÂŁ1060 cottage 1 ÂŁ 350 cottage 2 ÂŁ 450. Is there anything that I can do to have a meter installed? and will this submeter be accurate? They have not even given us any meter readings so we are paying our bills blind if you like.
