Hi all. I am looking at entering the electrical trade (again!!). I studied as an apprentice whilst working for BT and attended Kitson College in Leeds. I studied the TEC A3 course in electric and electronic engineering. I always understood this to be an ONC but I have no proof other than a print out from BT and the college and the governing bodies can't help as it is so long ago. Can anyone tell me what, if anything, these qualifications are the equivalent of?
I worked as a maintenance engineer for BT for 13 years so have experience in the field but no formal proof. I would like to work in small domestic situations and am not sure if any of my old qualifications will transfer to new ones.
Any help at all would be so gratefully appreciated.
thanks all.

That's nonsense the Engineering Council will have complete information on every engineering qualification that's ever been in place within the UK!! What you're being told from whoever you have asked, is that they can't be bothered to look/check. The college you attended and that issued your certificates, will almost certainly have all your records on microfilm or whatever

I have in the past been able to acquire copies of all my fathers C&G's and other related trade qualifications from other institutes that he had held. Bloody expensive exercise mind!! But the point i'm making is, that meticulous records are kept by all these institutions, dating back to the year dot!! lol!!
