Hello everyone im NVQ level2 but has never done strobe lights that will turn on/off in rows.

I am working in an old ice house & its my next job but I have no real idea if each row will come from the same CB in the CU then split to make rows or each row on its own CB in the CU (circuit braker/CB) (consumer unit/CU).

also as NVQ level 2 can I rewire on my own without an electrician (just rewire only) or does one need to be on site as the labour boss of the ice house seems to think its ok to rewire & change how the 4floor house is to be wired? just a question as im ok with so much work but some feels like im not allowed yet untill I have part-p

Thanks...

its not ok mate in my opinion. at level 2, you have covered a lot of the practical ,but most of the design theory is taught at level 3. A rewi9re is a new installation, and needs initial verification. Ie the tester to be on site during the build to verify that it is being designed and installed correctly. You wont have covered the theory, or been tested to ensure that you are competent to do this yet. Also part P of the building regulations apply. Just remember mate, that if you wereto make a mistake that could hurt somebody, or cause damage to property, then it is you that could be called up in court to defend yourself and explain your actions, and ignorance is not an excuse.

Im not being harsh mate, but people often forget their responsibility.

To control strobe lights reliably ( on /off in sequence) I think it will have to be controlled by an electronic speed controller. What intrigues me is the requirement for strobe lights in a domestic? It's not a hen but it is different!

well this place hasnt been rewired since 1991 I think as some idiot has lost all notes on the CU lol,

anyways I told them to get someone else inn, (due to me unemployed & at the OLCI course im under a in-trainning ---- job contract (jobcenter) so yea its not really helping me or them, so today i did some plumbing with a mate lol)

After my level3/4 & solar pannel grade 1 im off to AU lol (2012/3)

Thanks again to all who helped as this fourm is new to me & needed some advice... Thanks...

Keep reading and following the site. You'll learn all sorts of good stuff here. And never be afraid to ask the question. You'll have a lot more egg on your face if you don't ask and it all goes pear shaped. Every day's a school day!!
