Help with starting up on my own

Hi all,

I have been doing electrical work for about 2 years now employed, and recently finished 2330 Level 2 and 3 Technical Certificate , 17th Edition 2382, Inspect and Test 2392.
I want to start off on my own, able to do domestic work including inspection, testing and installations.
Am thinking about doing my 2391, which i believe i will need to do. Also i need to be part P certified which the NICEIC will give me if they inspect two of my Jobs for £500. Is this correct?

Any advice on what else i would need to get, plus what public liability insurance is good would be greatly appreciated!!!

I wouldn't bother there's hardly any work out there your better off getting a bar job in my opinion.

Thanks for that, but i have 3/4 jobs already lined up and have lots of builder friends so plenty of work for me!:smiley2:

good for you hope it goes well. Im not sure about nic costs but for me it cost a bit over 600 for the full lot.

Loads of builder friends here also, but it amazes me because they always have job which require 'loads' of electrical work, but they never seem to take place.
