I have a job where the roof is prefabricated with king span sanwiched between two sheets of 8mm ply, the structual survey has approved it for the weight, trouble is the 8mm ply is not very thick, with a bit of wind the brackets would just pull out of the ply, Any suggestions on the fixings please? Or as any one done a roof like this before?

Are you talking about a SIPs panel? If so they have a sort of I Beam internally and you can fix on to these, the manufacturer of the panels should be able to supply you with a diagram showing the locaion of the internal I Beams.

I sometime see lofts with ply covering the rafters.......could this be the case here.
How old is the property?
Could you somehow bolt on battens to the inside and attach your hooks through the roof and into the battens?

Not sure, it has stumped the structual surveyer, as there is a room in the loft so there is not much to look at and investigate, We have both spoke to the builder who built these 6 years ago, and he has told us both that they are manafactured in Norway. Im sure there is I beams evey so often on these panels, its just finding them?? I was thinking of using them expandable rubber hollow fixings, but you have to make hole in the roof which im not happy with doing.

Dale200, We have fixed onto SIPs boards, the roof was slated and we used normal slate anchors into the I Beams, I can't think of a way to find the beams with out the manufacturers diagrams. Your correct in that if you just go in to the ply the anchours will pull straight out again.
