Hi guys

Can you add a socket through a fused spur off a lighting circuit . Just to run a small humidifier.

Please anyone correct me if im wrong. But, you want to run a 13Amp socket on a Fused spur, from what i assume to be a 6Amp lighting circuit?
think what needs to be considered here is you might want to put a small humidifier in but. what is there to stop someone else coming along and plugging in a 2 or 3Kw heater? your lighting circuit would glow in the dark.

I'm not 100% sure on this but can't you fit a 5amp fuse spur, providing the humidifier does not pull more than 5amp.

Can somebody please clarify the above, if I'm wrong then I'm happy to be corrected for my own knowledge.

After the fused spur you can still get 5A round pin sockets and plugs to stop random plugging in of equipment MK 5A Round Pin Skt - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

Is it just me that thinks running a fused spur to a socket from a lighting circuit(possibly 1mm2) is dangerous?

Not sure you can class it as dangerous and as anything over 5A would trip the MCB (assuming it is an MCB).

However, a 5A socket outlet would be the way to go.

Thank's lads it's only as a last resort anyway. It is off a MCB/ Dual RCD board. It's not the way i want to do it but i'm finding it hard to find a way around it, decoration issue with the customer.

If i have to go this way will defo fit the 5a socket cheers.
