Hi guys

Can you add a socket through a fused spur off a lighting circuit . Just to run a small humidifier.

Hi

Please anyone correct me if im wrong. But, you want to run a 13Amp socket on a Fused spur, from what i assume to be a 6Amp lighting circuit?
think what needs to be considered here is you might want to put a small humidifier in but. what is there to stop someone else coming along and plugging in a 2 or 3Kw heater? your lighting circuit would glow in the dark.

I'm not 100% sure on this but can't you fit a 5amp fuse spur, providing the humidifier does not pull more than 5amp.

Can somebody please clarify the above, if I'm wrong then I'm happy to be corrected for my own knowledge. :)

Thank's lads it's only as a last resort anyway. It is off a MCB/ Dual RCD board. It's not the way i want to do it but i'm finding it hard to find a way around it, decoration issue with the customer:rolleyes:.

If i have to go this way will defo fit the 5a socket cheers.
