Remember when we found out that we'd paid over 2 grand to clean an MPs moat? Remember how they tried to cover it up?
Well there are new proposals being put forward by IPSA to hide the fact that MPs claims are being investigated for irregularities. Now correct me if I'm wrong but these people work for us, not the other way round, so if someone is accused of wrong doing and suspected of submitting dodgy claims then surely we have a right to know.
Now what IPSA want to do is to "protect MPs from the reputational damage they would suffer from public scrutiny"
Surely an MPs reputation is better served by openness and transparency? So that argument doesn't hold water to me. Lack of transparency is what led to the 2009 expenses scandal in the first place.
Anyway, if you agree. Please visit https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c043f3/2d01091c/4e602f4e/464f02ba/3220706026/VEsO/
and sign the petition. only another 20 thousand signatures are required so feel free to share it among friends and family
