Most of my customers aren't going to qualify for Fit @ 21p/13.6p because their houses won't meet the standards.

How much do costs need to drop to allow us to ditch MCS/REAL and everyone else - all of which take up loads of time and money - for us to be able to stick 2 fingers up at Fit and offer bargain prices that stand on their own without Fit?

It costs me £500 a job to keep someone in the office maintaining the paperchase, so that's £500 shaved off right away. I'd give on my margins a bit to get an easier life and costs are going to have to come down to make 13.6 & 12.9p work.

Do we need the hassle of MCS????

Depends on what % of PV power can get used in the house.

Typically a house uses 3,300 kWh a year and might get 33% of that from PV.

So 1,100 kWh a year at a grid cost of 15p = £165

A simple 10 year payback then means a system would have to cost no more than £1,650 inc VAT.

But you'd only need a 1.3 kWp system to produce 1,100 kWh/yr.

Obviously this changes for other consumption values.
