Hi all

Hi everyone, have been reading lots of threads and found them very interesting, thank you, i am 40 and decided its time for a career change, spent far too long with my head under a bonnet covered in oil. I have taken and passed all qualifications to become a domestic installer back in Jan, the real challenge is trying to find experience, due to my current job (and mortgage) i am only left with weekends free, is it the norm that electricians only work mon-fri as i am desperate to get stuck in!

Hi Liam, no just done domestic for now, 17th, logic insp&test (2391 i think) and part p scope, i am planning to do full quals at a later date when i've got a bit more know how. cheers.

Evenin big jay...

Got a mate that moved to Paignton / Brixham about 6 years ago.... Week after he was the best man at my wedding!!! He ran the music shop Able Sounds before the recession bit.

Anyway enough of me...... Welcome to the forum

Welcome....to the forum....but not, unfortunately to the trade. It's a bit dead out there. I wish i had trained as a mechanic. Look how many cars are on the road and they all need servicing and repairs. It's a no brainer. If I hadn't already invested thousands in this career path, i would be back at college learning cars.

Have worked in the motor trade since leaving school, worked in small places and main dealers its all the same, just gets harder and harder, have just lost interest in the job, it's not nice spending most of your life in a job you hate, thought it was time for a change!
