This is my first post and I am looking for some advice please.
I'm looking to train as an electrician having had a change of career due to recent circumstances. I've taken part "P" and an introduction to the theory and practice of electrical installations and like what i've seen so far. I'm going to take the 17th edition exam shortly.
I'd like to now make a committment to undertaking a more formal course of study on a part-time basis.
I'm looking to see if anyone within a 20 mile radius of Tunbridge Wells, Kent would be prepared to give me an opportunity for work experience for up to a year unpaid.
I have my own tools and transport and am honest, reliable, rarely ill, never whinge (except when my wife wants to go shopping or switch the footie over), hard working and committed. I'm also ex-forces.
If anyone is prepared to give me a chance or knows someone who might I'd be very grateful for the heads up.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

You are in a very long line of people looking for work at the moment.

Even ones offering their services for free and time served fully qualified electricians are also struggling.

Having said that, dont give up. Contact as many of your local firms as possible and offer them the same.

You never know.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the advice. I definitely won't give up looking.
I'll send some letters out tomorrow to local firms and see what might be available.
