I am just about to start my hnc with COLU, i would be grateful if anyone could give advice on what modules they are taking and how they are getting on with analytical methods for engineers. I know its going to be hard but would be grateful for any advice as i have been thinking of doing this qualification for years.

Welcome along.

There are a couple of chaps on here that are doing this course, if you try searching the forum you should find some relevant threads to help you.

Hi and welcome,

Did my HNC 10 years ago, was more biased to the mechanical side, but completed the whole thing in about 14 months (full time)......enjoy it

This book helped me enormously: Higher National Engineering: Amazon.co.uk: Mike Tooley BA; Advanced Technological and Higher National Certificates Kingston University, Lloyd Dingle BA (Open); BEng (Hons); CEng; MRAeS: Books

You'll have days where you're pulling your hair out, especially with some of the core modules!

Out of interest, what are your plans when you've completed your HNC?

Thanks, how far are you into this course? Is there any books you can recommend? As i'm only just starting could you tell me which modules you are doing. Very many thanks for replying.

I did it about 6 years ago, thoroughly enjoyed most of it!

There are a few good books, try the library first before you buy and good luck!
