Hi i am wiring up my new shed i and have a problem i got the new light it comes with 3 holes for the wires as normal live nutral and the earth i know the brown wire goes to live from the switch but where does the blue wire go.Any help will be great thanks

help with live switch wire

hi everyone hope someone can help i need to know where the live switch wire goes on the lamp holder. i am wiring up my new shed and can work it out after loads of looking online. All i have on the lamp holder is live nutral and earth. got a feed stright from the fuse box to the lamp then to the switch.

Hi John and welcome to the forum.

The blue wire of the light goes to neutral but there's several ways a lighting circuit can be configured and wired so it's not possible to give instructions without seeing the layout. There's also a safety issue here as well, if the circuit is wrongly wired it could result in damage, fire or electric shock, is there nobody you know with a bit more electrical knowledge who can help you out? The job probably wouldn't take a sparky very long to sort out and test afterwards to ensure it's safe, I'd suggest it might be money well spent to get some assistance.

hi and thanks for your reply i have had a sparky come and wire the fuse box but the light was not ready to put up so i have a set of 3 wires going to the light from the fuse box and 3 form the switch i just need to know where the blue wire from the light switch connects to if you would help
