Hi everyone, just thought I would say a quick hello as I haven't posted yet. Think the forum is great, picked up so really useful bits of information already. Got made redundant in january and have just set up with my brother who was also made redundant from same company:73:. But seems to be going okay at the moment.

Just got accepted as NICEIC approved contractors last week which were proud about. So here's looking to a brighter future.

If anyone would be kind enough to give me some feedback on best way to do certification ie buy NICEIC software or whatever would be much appreciated.

Thanks again in advance,

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy
Have the NICEIC changed the route to approved contractor?
You have managed to become approved contractors in only 4 months!!
when I applied 5 years ago I had to start as as a domestic installer 1st even after being
a qualified electrician for 22 years and the QS for a medium sized contractor for over 8 years.

I'm not sure about that if I'm honest, we had many lengthy discussions with NICEIC about it with all info about company we used to work for, the inspector visited our work on many occasions and where we have been running our own jobs and supervising ourselves, I assume this was adequate for approved status. I'm sure your not the only person that may be a bit bemused about it, but am still very happy about it. Apologies in advance if this upsets anybody else.

Jimmy
