Evening all, how tough is hi tuff cable? i've just wired up SON's in a barn and it took ages to do in swa just wondered if hi tuff would have been a better option, not used it at all so everyones opinions welcome;)

Hi Tuff cable is very durable and is ideal for runs requiring moderate protection probably equivilent to PVC conduit.
It is ideal for lighting circuits as you have described and will take a fraction of the time to terminate.
It would be my first choice if SWA was not required or specified.

If you use it buy a jokari cable knife strips it in seconds.

something i would be concerned of is rats and mice in that situation a few years ago i wired up some lights in a stud and the cables we took out were bear copper foxes like chewing it to apart from that its great cable.

Even with the swa i try and keep it away from our fury friends but sometimes it is difficult so i use steel conduit then, even more of a nightmare high up in a barn:(
