high flyer!!

evening all.....
we were called to an old gents house earlier today after he explained that "the bathroom lights kept going off at the fuseboard".....so after a quick consultation with the client when he explained that "it happened when i use the pullswitch"....thought i would go into the loft to have a look........and thats where i found this.....
what you can see here is the cabling for 5 selv downlights in the bathroom.....the work of an RAF trained electrician so i was told by the homeowner.....apparantly theres a load of his "work" at the local golfclub that they are continuously having problems with as well....hmm a real "high flyer"..lol.....needless to say that this "work" in the pics above was condemned and the lamps re-fed in new cable using enclosures for any joints etc....

A mate of mine got a call to a recently rewired house done by a spark who claimed to be army trained. Twas a thing of real beauty mate lights fed from cooker circuit, sockets fed by lights, connector blocks under floor boards etc. The place had to be totally redone. Turned out the "army trained" guy had taken an extreme way out of his problems between doing the job and his mistakes being discovered

most of this was covered in insulation as well...trannys, lamps,..the lot.....it was an eyesore of tape and badly made off joints with no support anyware.......

Gary was a little less tolerant. He spoke very ill of the deceased, something about bottoms, tearing and new as I recall
