Q- Can anyone please explain the concept of high impedance earthing (IT) and floating earth concepts used on ships/vessels, and how it is achieved and monitored, Can anyone with the technical knowledge of this subject explain in simple terms please!

IT is basically an earthing system that is seperated from the star point, or connected through a high-resistance method. This prevents sparks, which would be dangerous in refineries/mines etc.

I don't know how it is monitored, but as far as I know, it has to be constantly monitored, and it's use has to be approved by the Government/Home Secretary.
