what causes high zs readings on a ring socket circuit and when testing end to end l=0.60 n=0.68 e=over 200 help what could this be

Sounds like you have a poor connection on the cpc. It will quite likely be a poor termination in an accessory or worste case a damaged cable.

The advice already given is a good place to start.
TBH, without meaning to offend, but if I had to ask questions as basic as this then I would cease testing till I was more competent to dictate and assess measured values.

thanks for the reply and comments however we all need a liitle advice now and again my thinking was also loose cpc but having only replaced consumer unit and not doing a full periodic how far do u go and surley loose cpc would not such a high r1+r2 could it be that the ring is cross connected with the other ring as other ring was not giving continuity on e-e but did on r1+r2

A loose cpc connection could give you a number of readings, just depends how loose it is.

You need to 'break' the circuit down and locate where this 'fault' is.

I would suggest to your client that some investigation and fault finding is required on the installation.

I have not read through all the responses so this may have been offered already, end to end and indeed rfc tests are only part of Xs , the proof needs Ze to be measured b4 u start pulling the installation apart

his r2 reading is 200 ohms, so it's got to be a fault on the circuit. wander lead , test fom one end of cpc in CU from socket to socket, till the reading jumps.
