I have a job coming up involving fitting a residential cooker extractor hood and the appropriate ducting. The ducting will be going up through the ceiling first, then along under the floorboards, then back through the ceiling at the side of the room then along a wall above a row of kitchen cabinets then finally out though the wall (on the opposite side of the room, to the hood). Basically it's an L shape route. At this point I will need to cut a round hole through a brick and thermalite cavity wall to take the ducting outside. I think the ducting will be the 127mm diameter round white plastic type when it goes through the wall. The ducting along the kitchen cupboards will be the letterbox shaped stuff to save having an unsightly big round pipe across the room and maintain the storage on top of the cupboards.
I thought there was no point messing about and have already bought myself a secondhand Hilti DD100 to cut the hole through the cavity wall, as I'm sure this will be useful for cutting extractor fan holes and the like later on.
Can any of you kind folk recommend a core bit and any necessary adapter for cutting through the cavity wall with the DD100?
Not sure how many more 127mm holes I'll need to cut in future, but I'm sure I'm going to have to cut lots of extractor fans etc, so if any of you guys know the useful sizes of core bits to own for residential work, please recommend, maybe a kit would be appropriate. On a budget, but I try to avoid "buy cheap, buy twice".
And do any of you know where I can pick up a dust extractor adapter for the DD100?
Sorry for the lots of questions, hope it all makes sense.
