Ladies and Gentlemen,
Just a reminder that HMRC are now on a purge against SME's on instruction from the government to help fill the black hole in UK PLC's finances.:mad:. Whilst telling us they want to help SME's and we are going to lead the recovery :confused:. Tell us one thing and do another, nothing changes.
This involves a visit from an inspector who will look at your books, if the paper trail cannot be followed (i.e numbered invoices etc) you will be fined up to £3k. They will then give you a specified time to resolve the issue to their satisfaction, if you dont another £3k and so on. You cannot appeal against the fines.
If your in the midlands area I can put you in touch with a good bookeeper in your area.
You have been warned!!!!!

half way through last year i registered self employed and did about 50 jobs. Ive recorded every single one , but have only issued some of the customers with reciepts.

the numbering is a bit all over the place. what should i do

so does that mean i don't need to worry about getting all the jobs in order?

my ex employer gave me all my cis receipts

thank you for the heads up big n daft. my paperwork is piled high and about to get a visit from me with a spade to start sorting it out!!

Boys and Girls,
It doesnt matter what your business does, contracting, flower seller, graphic designer, UTR or no UTR and if your registered for VAT its open season.
It could be you next.
Get the paperwork sorted, invoices in order and numbered. If not its the easiest money HMRC can ever earn, remember there's no appealling on this one.
Good luck and I hope its saves you all some pain.
