i wont kid you mate and say this was easy, its a bitch, but a bit of advice, make sure you understand it because 'Electrical & Electronic Principles' is even worse! but worthwhile.
here goes,
Algebraic methods polynominal division, quotients, factor and remainder theorum.
exponential, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions.
geometric progression.
power series
Trigonometric methods , sinusoidal functions, trigonometric identities.
The calculus, intro, further differentiation, further integration, applications of calculus, eg minima, maxima
Statistics and probability, tabular/graphical, central tendancy/dispersion, regression/linear correlation, probability distributions.

advanced beer drinking to stay sane

hope this helps
if you need a hand with other modules (prefferebly not electrical/electronic principles) give me a shout.;)

hi there

electrical bit is not so much the worry did a city and guilds c course in the 1990s

make me a bit ancient to do hnc lol

thinking of hanging up the screw drivers and begin the search for my knees lol

told old for beer just rattle the pill bottle

bers is cheaper though lol

cheers

hang fire with the maths book, i may be able to pm you 'engineering mathematics' by john bird in pdf. the best book to buy is 'Higher Engineering' by Tooley & Dingle, covers all your core modules including analytical methods. good luck with the principles module(hee hee), dont know bout you but i didnt cover Laplace transforms with city & guilds:eek:
good luck again and if you need any further assistance:cool:

I would fully recommend Engineering Mathematics, by KA Stroud as an accompaniment to any higher education course. I used this book and the follow up "Advanced Engineering Maths" personally during study for a degree.

The combination of both books will be sufficient to cover as far as Honours degree and maybe beyond. The first book runs through everything you could require to know, has lots of worked examples and self study examples.

hi bomjac

thanks for that tip

got the last tma back to day all good 47/60

enough for me lol

now saving up for the first module for early next year

company sad no to funding surprise surprise.

ah well
cheers all

well done, it only gets more enjoyable, interesting and relevant from here on and good luck with the funding, have you looked into maintenance grants, you can claim for costs such as textbooks etc, it may not be a lot but it all helps, try to contact UCAS i think.

I have just started a foundation degree in electrical engineering seems good,I thought about going for the colu course, but the maths scared me and thought I would need a little more guidance so decided to the course at college.Good luck with your course.

hi there kablue2000

the mathematics was difficult but is very well laid out so following the idiots guide book was fine

you need to think about getting the hnc mathes books as they are very good but cost around 120 quid for the lot a good investment for the later fun

got a quote today came in at 1600 quid for the course and 161 for registration so it is not cheap

regards
