as above any information would be usefull from those of you who have done or in the process of doing, i am just looking into my next step from training after my 2391 and 17th, i take it as an electrician i would have to do one in electrical engineering? is that correct

thanks chaps

A building services engineering HNC is also an option.

Without A level, you will have to start at HNC before even considering an HND. As Malc said, a maths bridger will also have to be done for the electrical engineering HNC if you dont hold any A levels.

I'm doing my EE HNC now with the university of Teesside & the maths really is mind blowing, the jump from electrician courses to engineering, academically, is massive!

I am currently taking the HND Building Services Engineering at LSBU part time year 1(of 3). Maths is taught as part of the course in year 1 to bring people up to speed. That said, we had a mock exam in december and more than 50 percent of the class failed miserably.
Most of the stuff listed in the unit above is GCSE higher tier standard and only the calculas (differentiation and integration) would not have been covered by someone with this qualification.
I am one of the oldest in the group but there are several around the same age and most come from trade backgrounds. Check out the website at www.lsbu.ac.uk
