To say im happy is an understatement!
I started the course as a mature student at 27 and hadnt studied since my apprenticeship (2360 1+2 etc) at the beginning i was convinced I couldnt do it and I had to travel a 2 hour journey to college to attend.
I know im gloating but just wanted to share hopefully you all dont mind,

Well done Monty. Did you have 236 pt 3. Been looking into returning to college (40 yrs old though) was told I may have to take a further maths course( a or as level) first to bring me up to speed. I consider my maths to be very good....for my age!!!!!

No only had 2360 1 and 2, wasnt offered 3 :)

To be honest the maths was the hardest subject by far! if you are confident you can do it (which you seem to be) speak to the course tutor and discuss it and a letter from your boss/company helps too.

I was told that I would need bridging courses in maths and science as any CandG certs were seen as worthless, this was better than a lot of colleges i rang as they wouldnt dream of letting me do a HNC only an ONC (was angry as 2360 pt 2 is equivalent to ONC).

They agreed to see how it went and possibly I could do A levels alongside, At the beginning i was struggling but then it all came flooding back :) with some hard graft i managed ok

brush up on partial fractions, differentation and integration and impress the tutor on the phone, freestudy website is very helpful

Hope it goes ok for you, any help let me know, are you doing mex or electrical?

Top Man well done HND now then, you know youn want to, go on ;)

Im afraid not :(

My company have been great but have instead put me on a business management NVQ3 instead, I cant complain and I may do a degree with OU:)

It will be electrical...still waiting for a response from the local college...(which is not the best.) In fact one of the tutors used to be my boss when I was serving my time.
