Discuss hockey stick in meter cabinet in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

O

odigi

Evening, how should I connect the hockey stick to the meter cabinet? is there a grommit or similar? or is it left open?

Also, how far into the cabinet should the hockey stick go in? flush?

any help much appreciated!

:)

Where does the other end go?
The end that is not in the meter box.

The only time I ever fitted them was when we were doing a load of new build flats....

One end in meter box -----> the other end sticking up and placed so it was near to the tray above in the communal area where the incomer was coming along.

Sure we fixed it to the wall with all round band.

The hocky stick normally runs down the face of the wall to a point a foot or two below ground level (can't remember the specified depth) where it turns horizontal with the end pointing towards where the underground supply cable is coming from. Can be connected to ducting containing the supply cable.
It makes it easy for the DNO to run in the supply cable without having to clip it up the wall and provides extra mechanical protection.
