Have found a good price for the 'Starret Electrician's Hole Saw Kit'. Biggest is 51mm, knowing I'd need a couple of bigger sizes for Downlighters what do you find are the most common? 64, 70...
Cheers

I've got the starrett electricians hole saw kit and I've got a 4in starrett for the fan holes and a 6in for larger fans and for making proper inspection holes;)

Cheers again Pennywise for all your input on my posts this weekend. Will be getting the Starret Kit & a couple more for the Fan cut out & D/Lighter variants...
Cheers

Starrett also do a really good dust catcher, I got it imported from the states as I don't think you can get it in the uk, though I think I have seen it other places. I also find with hole saws manufacturers vary so much with the cut out sizes for downlights it's sometimes just worth pricing the cost of the right size hole saw for the job and then just buying it as and when the job dictates.

Was looking for a dust cowl & cannot find the starret one, so will check out the US Connection. Thanks! & agree with D/Lighter cut outs. The guy I work with does tend to fit similar brands, so not much variance but agree, it's not too pricey to pick up one for the size of the fitting.
Cheers

Good metal holesaws aint cheep and dont take kindly to plasterboard a cheap downlight kit from B+Q will always get you within a mm of most downlight sizes and they have a wood plaster tooth , also the arbour stem is much smaller than the hs metal equiv so you can fit it in the smallest of cordless drills .
