hi all,
quoting on three phase system for 6 holiday lets, straight forward in as much as each holiday let has £1 coin meter. The owners have asked the question of legality of charging for the free electricity generated, although it is on their meters . anyway (tedm) know the ofgem position and can point me in the direction of the clauses

thanks

I presume that the owner collects the £1s and keeps them (accounting for them appropriately) and just has a normal quarterly bill to settle with the supplier against a single meter/MPAN? Can't see that this would really be any different to a block of flats with a landlord supply. You just need to feed the pv generation into the circuits downstream from the supplier's meter with the required generation meter(s). What the owner does with the 'free electricity' (gives a discount to the holiday makers or not) is up to them in the same way that they could remove the £1 meters and include the cost of electricity consumed in with the rate for the let.

The FITs tariff band will depend on whether this is determined to be a single installation or multiples.

I would expect the FIT payments to be declared by the owner as taxable income for the business.
