Does anyone know of any information/reading material which is available for home automation generally as opposed to a specific product or manufacturer? There are plenty of product reviews and manufaturer sites on the 'net, but I can't seem to find any generic information on system design or integration.

Try "wiring digital home for dummies" by Dennis C. Brewer and Paul A. Brewer its an old book but gives a fair overview. What are you trying to do? General interest or do you have a project in mind?

Thanks for that, I'll have a look.

Nothing specific per say, but I'm exploring some possibilities for my placed as I'm currently doing a refurb and I'm considering putting a Sonos system which got me thinking about lighting etc. More generally it's an area I'd like to expand into but have no experience with.
