Over the last couple of weeks I have had some bother with a leaking Kitchen tap, not a cheap one, quite expensive to be honest. Any way the Guy who installed it for me is very elusive, annoying to be honest, promised to replace it under guarantee etc, just ignored all my calls and texts, so much so that my Mrs called up Home serve.
In the past I lost confidence in them untrained guys turning up, on one occasion I threw one Lad out the door, or should I say pack your kit and Foxtrot Oscar.
Anyway Plumber turned up and did a brilliant job apart from busting the waste pipe a complete accident could have happened to anyone, which wasn't noticeable until the Kitchen floor got wet, called them back the same day, nice Lad turned up, renewed the whole waste pipe, traps under the double sink, replaced all the fancy stoppers in both sinks, a good job all around. Are they changing for the better? opinions welcomed, bye and bye we only had the policy when I was travelling overseas, and Her indoors wanted to keep it.

They brought help-link and checkatrade in the last few years...
Yes I know I questioned the Plumber, apparently the management has been pulled to pieces and revamped, lets hope for the sake of those people that rely on them for ALL household problems that they do a better job than the last lot.

It seems that homeserve have upped there standards, as I know both a gas engineer and an spark who take work from them, and they had to send in qualifications, insurance ,references etc to stay on the homeserve books. previously there was little due diligence but now they have been a bit more selective in who they take on.
