We've got a bit of interest and little urgency from our customers who say they want us to install - as a customer I'd be the same.

Yesterday, we visited a customer, their next door neighbour had been lucky enough to get their system installed before the Dec deadline (a debatable argument since prices have dropped so much but that's another argument) and said our customer thank goodness they only had to have that little box put in next to their consumer unit to get the job registered with all the work being done after the cut off date .......

We must have turned down 15 jobs at least before the deadline - could have put that "little box" in each of them over a couple of days if I'd known those were the rules .....

The company that installed is a well respected local green building firm - I think we have a lot to learn about business :banghead:

Then again our MCS inspector told us there were a number of firms currently being taken to court for fraudulent installations in December, knowing our luck we'd have been caught!

Honesty will pay off once you have registered your anonymous tip off to their MCS accrediting body. You will have one less competitor to deal with :)

They have taken the risk and they should pay for it. Like you we only installed completed systems before the deadline, but did hear of many instances where systems were installed after the cut off.

I remember working on a customer's roof at 8pm under floodlights to get the job done before the deadline. At one stage I thought I was going to miss "Match of the Day".

Another day we were slipping and sliding across the tiles because the morning frost wouldn't go away.

Floodlights? The luxury of urban areas! We did help out one local installer (after all, I'd nicked their sparks for three weeks in November :) ), though parking three vans in the field opposite with the headlights on on the Saturday night was getting beyond a joke.

Wind - Snow - Frost - Dark -

we installed 50 systems from oct - nov - dec !!!!

Crazy times but Id do it again over and over

We even tried to commission using our floodlights, there was enough voltage to get the inverter into start up mode but not quite enough to get it going. Crazy times, we did 28 in that time which for a two man core team was interesting to say the least!

Honesty means you can sleep at night (although you might find yourself waking up to wonder if you're going to break even)

Hmm I would report them! I've continuously questioned my ethics when others don't seem to have any. I've seen fraud and corruption which really troubles me, but we solider on.
