Hi,

Ive been asked to cable a hot tub, and its my first time, so any help would be appreciated!

Running some steel armoured 25 metres from the consumer unit into a drybox. The drybox will have small consumer unit with a 40A supply and be connected to a 32AMP hot tub, and will also run a hifi and a couple of sets of LED garden lights - they will be connect to ip66 sockets.
I'll use the same armoured to go from the small consumer unit to the hot tub
What size armoured should I use - was thinking 6.0mm three core should be more than sufficient?
Also, i understand the drybox needs to be 2metres at least from hot tub - I assume the same applies to any ip66 switches or sockets ?

Your hottub will probably require a type C MCB so check your cable size will give you an acceptable Zs which will be half that of a type B - I think 25m x 6mm 3core SWA will give an R1+R2 around 0.2 so should be ok unless you've got a very high Ze to start with. Also, yes I agree - all iso switches/sockets over 2m from tub.
