Evening all.

I admit I am not affay with the workings of contactors however, I have come across a domestic property that heating and water powered via economy 7 electric.

Recently, the water is running luke warm to cold. I have tested the circuit within the property to ensure there is a circuit throughout (from the CB to immersion). Additionally, I have changed the entry points to the contactor for the heating and water as the heating is still working.

Apart from having an early breakfast with the occupier, is there anything else I can do to test the workings of this.

PS the plumber has changed the immersion as an option but still no joy

If the water is Luke warm then there is power getting to the immersion..I very much doubt it's to do with the contactor. I would assume it's something to do with the thermostat on the immersion or the controller isn't functioning/timed correctly. I would get an electrician in to take a look.

What do you mean "changed the entry points"

Where the feeds to the off peak heating and water enter the contractor, I swapped the, to ensure both sides of the contractor were allowing power through. This made no difference as the heating was still working after being swappped.
