Hi,

Been to a shop and wired a new ring main. Completed the job (plastic trunking, nightmare to get into some places), then customer asks about there hot water.

I find a hot water cylinder in the back of a high cupboard behind all the stock for the shop.

The supply to the cylinder is a SFCU with a 2.5 flex to the immersion stat.

A couple of questions:

As there is only an on/off switch does this mean water will always be getting heated and be costing a fortune?

Can i put in some sort of programmer?

Cheers

Note: The size was 3kw

Yes and Yes.

It will only be expensive when you heat it up from cold. While the thermostat is keeping the temp it wont be too bad.

There are a few SFCU with built in timers which will handle the 3kw available for about ÂŁ30.

Cheers...........Howard
