Hi guys, wonder if I could pick the brains of any of the alarm guys on here for a bit point in the right direction. Got an accenta g3 in my own home that I installed maybe 6 years ago or so. This morning the ext siren began making some peculiar low noises before finally going into tamper and full alarm. Not had chance to grab ladder from work yet to get up to it but in your past experience is it most likely to be the siren that is faulty or the main panel? Qualified sparky but we don't do a great deal of alarm systems so I thought I'd seek a bit of opinion on here before I buy a siren/panel that might not be required. I'll be checking the tamper switch on the siren tomorrow as a starting point.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if you have got one but an invaluable tool when it comes to alarms etc is the biggest hammer you can find,
Take it to the box outside and it will soon resolve the issue.
Failing that a good pair of snips will do the trick

Quick and simple...at the panel test with a multi meter, the voltage on terminals D and A (bell + and scb -) should be around 13v.
if there is not voltage check F3 fuse. if there is voltage at D and A then its new outside siren unit.
Good thing always to do after 5 years...is check F1 fuse and replace battery.
Hope this helps

before getting your ladder out, get a meter ( on volts) between bell+ and you should read 12v+ to both A and T.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will check the readings tomorrow when I've got my tools and voltage testers on me.

And the panel battery is only about 8 months old and no power cut this morning.
