Hi,

Hello , I am currently employed by Bae Systems manufacturing looms for the Typhoon aircraft, I have an NVQ 2 in this,, My question is how long would it take me to become qualified as an domestic electrician ,I am willing to go to college on a night or even do a condensed course but would just like some advice on which way to go. Any advice gratefully appreciated
P.S , I am 44 , if it makes a difference.

have a read thru the forum and do a few searches - there are lots of similar threads - most people will probs favour the college route - you have to be very careful with these expensive "become an electrician in 5 weeks" type courses. There also seems to be a lot of newly qualified people who are just scraping by so beware of the "earn ÂŁ50,000 idea".

used to be a case of doing your 2330 lv 2 then lv3 then 17th exam and workign for a spark for a bit then finally doing your nvq but this is changing next year as the last registration for 2330 is march.

the new way is by doing your 2357 and 17th edition if you google city and guilds 2357 then im sure it will answer the questions if nota search on here may help
