How do you get into Fire Alarms ?

I would like to get into fire alarm installation and maintenance. Do you do a course or is it all on the job training ? Which companies do it ? Does anybody have any advice ?

there are courses, but if you know what you are doing, then there's nothing to stop you. there are, of course regs. to adhere to as well as BS7671, there's BS5839. and biulding regs.
