100%. Even the bailiffs cannot take the tools of your trade.
A good collection of tools is a significant amount to replace; It's not just that, they are usually things in the early days of your trade that you have had to sacrifice for.
They are very personal.

I have loads of organisers in the van and loads more organisers not on the van at home ,and tools that are perfectly good but have fallen out of favour for newer ones . I really need to kill the urge to acquire more toys

this is my problem, I got rid of my van during the first lockdown as it needed a tonne of repairs to keep it road worthy And couldn’t afford to at the time.
im currently using our car for jobs now , and trying to keep what I carry daily to an absolute bare minimum.
I don’t like carry too much stuff around Banging about in the the car...
Whatever you rationalise as not needed will be critical for the next job, guaranteed.

I've had a 2x58w HF ballast in the back of my van for about six months and at 17:30 last night I finally needed it.

Turned up to a job where they had bought a replacement fitting that didn't have the same footprint as the old and the decorator hadn't papered behind the old fitting.

One very happy customer!

Anyone using one of them armorgard type boxes, or a van cage for storing tools and the likes in?

i like the look of them, think they’d help me store stuff better; but they’re pricey...

I remember I once had an orange on the dashboard .
It rolled off and became wedged under the break paddle as I was driving I was panicking like crazy and trying to move it with my foot ?
should have stamped on the brake. orange squash... kia-ora.

And the so-called experts reckon fruit is good for your health eh.

I managed to cure my access and storage issues,by placing a tiny section of self adhesive Velcro tape,on everything i own....and lining all interior surfaces of my vehicle, with felt.

I have also avoided the need for fitting beds, when we go camping,by having bespoke,Velcro pyjamas, made for all the family ?

You knows it, there’s no point attracting attention to your van.

Although, They should bring back hanging for tool thieves. Boils my p155 when I read about lads having their vans broken into and everything nicked.
Totally agree mate and I’d add the same for the f£&kjn idiots that buy em they are just as guilty, a decent tool collection takes a lifetime....
