Hi All,

Thought i would throw this one out there, just recently after an NIC visit the engineer picked up on something on an EICR we had carried out, the test was carried out on an underground station on a small metering circuit, all was fine apart from a bit of labelling, as this board was on a sub-main and the contraints of the underground where you are only authorised to work in certain areas and the db could of actually been fed from another station it was not possible to gain access to the origin to assess the eartning and bonding and incomer particulars, so we had put this down as a limitation to the test, just wanted to get a feel for what you guys would of done in this situation of limiting the assesment of basics of the system.

Chris

Know exactly what you mean mate, some tests are not worth the paper they are written on, but how far should the lims be able to go, how can this be policed if companys are doing lims to get out the door quicker and gain turnover and others are genuine, all is good till it goes wrong
i know a testing company who do EICR tests on big sites they don,t even carry steps and LIM most of the cert

3 mins a circuit or move on and just leave isolated ... And again not a accessories above 3 meters is opened if any.. Should of guessed it.. Or got keys

in this situation, i woould of thought you were well within your rights to put that as a limitation, so long as you put the test results down for what you could do.

ive seen lims on every test, and a satisfactory result, go figure
