How Induction Motor Work?

Hi everyone. I am a student of electrical engineering. I want to know the functioning of an induction motor. How it works and what are the advantages of it?

It was something I had trouble understanding myself too, didn't help that my teach didn't get it either.

What particular parts are confusing you, no-one is going to spend 2 hours explaining every thing, so be more specific.

The bit that made it click for me is understanding slip. A current is generated if a wire moves through a magnetic field.
