Is the property unoccupied and empty?

Who is suppling the parts?

What make are the parts?

These are really important factors to helping me help you on this one.

Hi this very interesting

What are you paying for the parts?

or/

What is your labour bit of the price?

What day rate are you working to?

How long do you think it will take you.

I always stick a finger in the air and try and get the job, so I am very interested inother peeps way of going about this sort of thing

Martin

about £1950 is labour cost £20 per hour

20 per x 7.5 hrs per day = 150 per two man spark and labourer (100 + 50)

or

£1950 divide by 3 weeks = 650 per week for 1 man

I am kinda stuck for time on this as never priced a rewire including chasing. So I am expecting 3 weeks for 1 man or 2 weeks for 2 guys.

I don't think you are far off the mark really, I normally recon on twenty an hour, but I think 4 days chasing out with me makita demolition hammer, 1 day per floor ring main laying wires and putting up back boxes and trunking, 1 day per floor doing same for lighting, half day for fat wire runs (you know what i mean), half day for fitting cu and bonding. 1 day for testing, So 10 day I have it

Probably explains where I am going wrong, but I like to keep busy.:)

What do you think?

Martin

is your 10 day 1 man or two man.

With my price if can do it on my own fair enough in the allocated time. 3 weeks max. But I have allowed for a bit of labour hear and there. Like taking old stuff off walls cutting cables out.

I always price it one man then if more work comes in I can always hire some help to do the non tech stuff.

So we are a week out.

It is a shame that there are only the two off us in this conversation so far.

I think on the evidence so far your price is a little heavy and mine is a little light. But I am not criticizing and as it may be that mine is too light and you are bang on the money here.

I have not seen the job so don't know the difficulties and cable runs that have to be made etc. So don't be too swayed by my finger in the air job

Thanks Martin

For whats it worth I reckon you should be just under 3k like £2950,sound the client out has he/she had other quotes. In Sunny old Surrey for this type of work prices vary so much ,get anywhere between £3500 and £5500 depending on level of fit and quality of parts.

Top tip hire or buy a professional diamond wall chaser,£35 for 2 days hire including new blades which you can keep for next time.Set depth, switch on extractor and just move up the wall ,so easy.

Good luck ,hope you get it.

I would also say a little cheap.

I would go in around 3-3500 using good quality accessories, Crabtree or similar.

Whilst you factor in your labour, dont forget it should also include call backs etc for whatever reason.

Go in at £3,300 a spark and a mate a good 5-6 days, depending on your experience. Hire a chaser if you dont have one. Are you making good or is the client arranging a plasterer, that will be extra, also EIC. Best of luck.:)
