Start the thread then matehow a bout a thread "what did you learn to drive in?" mine was a 1956 ford thames van. 3 forward gears engaged with a pudding stirrer, no heater. wiper on driver side only, vacuum driven, the faster you wanted it, the slower it moved. paraffin heater under the sump at night in winter otherwise the starter could not turn it over fast enough to fire.
So that's where the name comes from!!!Probably 10 or 11, can't remember. My first car was a 1.4 mini metro, like carp off a shovel with it being so light. My uncle used to joke that me being 6'4" I'd need to take the front seat out and sit in the back like hightower off police academy, and it stuck.
The best vehicle I've owned though was a '95 Nissan Largo imported from Japan. Absolutely loved that van, for a van which was 18 years old at the time I had it, it was a dream to drive.
Hey Pete, my first car was an A35!! Cost me less than £70 I guess in 1968.Austin A40, A35 A long gap whilst travelling. Lada Niva 4, Lada can't recal which type all pretty much the same, Ford Escort, Alfa 156, Alfa 146, VW Fox, Vauxhall Corsa, Nissan JUKE
