When you tell someone you are a sparky they always say, you must have loadsa money, but seriously how many hours do you work on an average week to live a no frills life.

I probably do about 50-60

Yr lucky gettin 50/60hrs a week at the min, i'm probably only doing that in a month!! Havent been on my own long and have to keep telling myself it will pick up............

I didnt think you were bragging m8, apologies if you thought I was being funny. I havent long been on my own and am just finding my feet with regards to finding work and what not. I only do Domestic at the moment and have got my first PIR the week after next on a 3 bed, wouldnt really be that confident of doing a big one at the mo, thanks for the thought anyway. :)

i got laid off a couple of years ago because the guy that owned the firm said he didn`t have enough work for me. i did one hundred hours the week he was laying me off and he asked if i could stay on a litiile longer? don`t think so.

How long is a piece of string....:)

Basic would be 7 - 6 Mon - Fri & 7 - 3 on Sat. Try and keep Sundays free.

The old crunch has altered this a bit but, it's coming back like it used to be now.

just before I was made redundant and still happening now the firm I worked for had at least 2 guys in the office each day hence not enough work n I was made redundant Still have 1 or 2 in nearly every day things aint picking up and guys that are still there not feeling secure in their jobs

before the "down turn" we were doing silly hours as required as mostly retail early ( 2am 3am 4am) starts were the norm since then client is cutting back on Out Of hours stuff or just not geting some things done

people saythat to me when the truth is some people who ar working in tesco are taking home more than me at the moment

do about 20 hours a week at the moment probably manage around 800 quid a month take home would look for another job but theres nothing out there

about 16hr for me on the electrical side .. electrical repairs/pat testing ( dead ) this month ... pc repairs 2 every day and one was a laptop screen rebuild.. as im sub for a computer firm i prefer to work from home .. as long thay have pc/laptop back within 24hrs thay not botherd and thay leave me alone no one watching over my back and saying is it done yet..

and i really hate it when clients say do you know what you are doing ..Grrr

my son was in the building trade for 3 years now he was gone to work for tescos less hrs more pay at the moment ..

Overtime has been stopped at our place unless permission is given by contracts manager.

Basic week is 37 1/2 hours, so 8-4 including breaks.

Iv been lucky enough to get on jobs that overtime is allowed which is 9 a day, I get paid for college that I go to one day a week thats 7 1/2 hours. Brings in an alright wage for a 19 year old.
