I wonder how many registered installs are yet to to be completed. I've spoken today with a couple of installers that are out installing systems they have registered in the last few weeks. One of them is installing several 10kw systems a company in Cambridge claims to have registered 40 systems that they have not even started.

Is honesty the best poverty.

Funny you should mention it. Just returned from a run and passed two jobs going up within a mile of each other. One of the companies is local and I am not surprised they are up to it, given some of their other practices I have become aware of....

I think if anybody is doing this then they should keep it to themselves.

Its not right if they are but is also not right what the goverment have done either.

I still have a couple of systems to move. All fully commissioned and working, just the panels need moving from the ground onto the roof, such is the case with a shortage of roofers and scaffolding. I have not done what some seem to be doing and that is registering the meter having not lifted a screwdriver.

I have commissioned a new-build (ground mounted), but removed the panels from sight after running up (even in 48W/m2 of sun) to prevent theft from the unoccupied rural site.

Its an unfortunate situation to be in, but its been created by a careless, poorly timed and ill conceived decision by the government.

One of my suppliers sold their mid dec delivery in nov so I suspect this practice is fairly widespread.
I had all mine finished over a week before the cut off date. I made sure the paperwork had enough time for any issues (errors on forms etc) to be identified well in advance.

I've got a couple left to do, a small ground mount- commisioned last week, tested and working then switched off and is going to be fixed to the frame tomorrow and a flat roof that is the same- 9 panels lying flat on the roof since friday that is going to be mounted on consoles on wednesday (if they come).
I tried to do things correctly and have no problem mentioning the above. If I had actual jobs that needed starting then I'd be a bit more hush about it but in all honesty I would have probably done the certs for them regardless- my main priority in this mess has been my customers and if I had had to bend the rules more than I have then I certainly would have after the fun and games of the last month. I would much prefer that than having some poor bugger lose out through no fault of their own.
Having said that I didnt take on anymore work when I knew what was happening for fear of letting my customer down, I would imagine that there are a lot of companies installing this week that kept selling (in fact used the situation as a selling point) and have simply gone for as much cash as they can get their hands on. Which I think is a different kettle of fish.
