A roofer was doing some work on my parents house when I popped round. Now. A couple months later I get a call from hhim to have a look at his first house he's bought. Electrical install=diy gone wrong. So I have rewired 14 points on one ring and 2 point on kitchen done mini trunk until he revamps kitchen plus db needed up graded to. Now how much to charge. I would say I have spent roughly 3 days.

Some rough prices guys please remember young lad and it's his first house

Thsnks Paul

You need to determine how much you need to earn per day/hour to make the "occupation" worth while, whilst not forgetting the other sparkies in your area.

I'd say you should charge at least ÂŁ150 per day and don't forget the time to do the necessary certificates etc.

Given he's a roofer and may well give out your name you don't want to get a reputation for being too cheap too!

ÂŁ150 a day labour,
ÂŁ250 materials,Fuel? ware and tare on van/ insurance/membership.
ÂŁ300 cu change with upgrade bonding if required,
ÂŁ250 Testing and reports,

Just remember your not a charity its a living.

3 days, ÂŁ540 + Mats at cost +5%, don't base your rate on working 5 days a week as you have to take account of holidays, sickness and no work, I try to live on 3 days a week, if i have full weeks, which i have for the last 8 then its a bounus but in the summer it was dead. charge for a good job, do a good job and don't cut corners to make it cheep as it will come back to bite you.
