I am an electrical apprentice. I have just completed 3 years of an apprenticeship and have recently passed my am2. I am interested in going it alone when fully qualified as im fed up of earning money for other people. I dont know how to go about it so that i can complete nic eic test forms and sign off my own installations. Can anybody help with this please?
thankyou

I have done my 17th, yet to do my 2391, i have had quite an even experience of domestic and industrial work but would be aiming myself mainly at small domestic works to begin with. I have re-wired my mums house on my own but it was tested and signed off by another electrician. For the past 6 months i have done nothing but test which has been a real joy. Thanks to all replies.

2391 is desirable but not a prerequisite of domestic installer scheme membership.

Check out the websites from the schemes, they detail insurance and documentation requirements, also what the assessments entail and costs involved.

Me i would go napit or elecsa to start with and if you feel confident and more established maybe consider NIC but the costs can vary ive herd good and bad about all scemes , so ive chose elecsa and they have been good to me ,.......................... or another quick way of getting yourself certified is as i did and walk around in circles talking to you self lol sorry could resist
