Hi all, long time reader first time posting.
Hope you can help, I am level 3 and 2391-52 qualified having been in the game for 10 years I’m looking to do private work, but want to do it legally I already have public liability insurance, but the main question is do I have to join an association like NIC etc or can I use eg kewtech test sheets (from wholesalers) if so how would I go about part p.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction
Thanks

Certification can be done by anyone competent, you can download model forms from the IET website if you want to use paper copies.

Part P compliance is easiest and cheapest through a scheme, or contact your local BCO to see if they are enlightened or ignorant regarding these matters.

all comes down to whether the jobs you do will be notifiable under the part p rules... if no notifiable jobs are undertaken then you have no need to join a scheme unless you want an expensive van sticker. In any case you can use the standard blank IET forms for minor works and test results... if you start getting jobs that need notifying then you can join a scheme and if clever use the jobs for the assessment visit
