How to draw a schematic | on ElectriciansForums

Discuss How to draw a schematic in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

When you ask what method do you mean what program?

If it's a very basic schematic for a control panel I use Micro$oft Visio cause I'm bone idle lazy. With Visio I have common components saved as pre-made shapes which I can drag & drop into the new drawing. Visio will also save as a CAD format like dwg or dxf.

If it's a more complex drawing I would use AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop which supports multiple layers. For a general electrical drawing you can put the main distribution on one layer, socket circuits on another, lighting on another etc etc..
