How to size storage heaters

I have got to get a couple of storage heaters for a flat that has been refurbed. I have not had to order any storage heaters in the past, I have only installed the ones my old boss had ordered. Is there a basic calc for working out the size of the required storage heaters? Thanks.

Use this design tool from Dimplex, where you don't have information, just use worst case scenario but get the exact room sizes.

There is, but you’re going to go cap in hand to the plumbers for it. I have it somewhere but it’s in old hand written notes that are in storage 50 miles from me. My equations relate to BTHU. Sorry kid, it’s that or look on Google.

Sizing a SH does need a bit of thought.

Typically.....

• Size of room.
• Number of outside walls.
• Use of the room i.e living, bedroom or bathroom.
• Type/ age of construction, i.e solid walls, insulated cavity walls.
• Insulation properties.
• Size of windows, and type of glazing.
