Afternoon All,

We look after a site which is split up into several large sheds and a corn drier. Most of the sheds are metered separately. The company is concerned that some of the meters are no longer accurate and would like them testing.
Is there a temporary metering kit you can buy to check what is being used? If anyone knows of a product, could you please let me know.

Thanks

You'd probably find a power quality analyser would do the trick, however if this is a one off use it may not be financially viable as they are fairly costly. You could try and Google search for a company that would lease one?

Alternatively, I know of a company called Eco-Eye that supply meters that you can clamp around supply tails that display power usage. Have a look at their site below:

Eco-Eye Products and Online Store

use a power usage clamp on device which householders use for checking energy usage - I have an edf one - they are about £35, and can show watts or cost if you put the rate in.. clamp it around the line tail from the meter.
They are quite pop[ular, possible argos do them but any ebay or google search will show them up..

We use one that is called an "OWL" for just this and you can monitor 3ph with it as well if you get the extra clamps , it cost's around £35-40 .
Cef sell them for sure and i think Argos and B+Q as well .

Cheers for all the info. Eco Eye looks about the best but it only goes to 200amps per phase. I might need something a little bigger.
