how to test IC?

I have two ICs
1- Quad comparator with name LM339N
2- Voltage regulator selector guide with name LM723CN


I need ways to check them if they are works done or not?


*Is there general way to check any IC whatever it is name?

Most IC's can be tested using jtag, but you'll need some additional test hardware and software to do it. Best place to start is the manuf datasheets.

simpest way is to replace. if new one works, then the old one is kaput..... ssssimple
